Long before he was Grandpa Skeeter, he was a four-year-old boy camping with his family at Lone Rock Beach on Lake Powell. He watched his brothers and cousins water-ski behind Grandpa Stone’s old boat and wanted desperately to try it himself. When he finally got his chance, he remembered Grandma Stone’s instructions to hold on tight—even when things didn’t quite go according to plan! That unforgettable day helped give him the nickname Skeeter, a name that stuck for life. Like all Skeeter’s Adventures stories, some dialogue and details have been adapted for storytelling, but the heart of the adventure comes from a real family memory.
